Students Support Post Secondary Education Print E-mail
Wednesday, 11 May 2005
I am a junior in high school and have thus far taken four classes under the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program at Cuyahoga Community College. I am writing because I have benefited enormously under this program for the past two semesters. The program has been wonderful for me and has given me an opportunity to experience college first hand in a way that no college preparation book or any other program can.

This semester I have been taking trigonometry and general chemistry. Both classes are challenging and even difficult at times, but I am convinced that taking tough classes at Tri-C are more beneficial, in mine and others' cases, than taking classes in high school at a slower pace.

In addition to the academic challenges the PSEO Program offers are top-of-the-line equipment that aids in the learning process. For example, the equipment that I get to use in my chemistry lab is incredibly better than my high school or any high school has to offer.

The high school that I am enrolled in is a noncharter (08) school that does not receive money from the state. Thus, the House Bill being debated will directly affect me and people I know. I hope that my letter will help you in your decision.

Sincerely,

William Allamon
