May we love God, and love each other, as we were born to do. And may we remember that Jesus will never, ever leave our side.
May we remember that courage is not the absence of fear, but the facing of it. And May The Holy Spirit give us comfort and peace-so that we might share it with another.
May we know that our Lord hears our ever thought, unspoken and spoken. And He loves us. And may we know that Jesus hears our every fear, and He understands. Just as He knows our every weaknesses and failure, and yet He always, always forgives us.
May we remember that regardless of race, religion or any of the many other ways we divide ourselves, God loves every single human being. And may we, as followers of Christ, share all that we have and serve God and serve God's people-All of them.
And may our Lord give special comfort both to all those serving in our police and fire departments, and to their families. For many of them will face the storm alone, so that their husbands and wives can work to keep us safe.
 And
may we remember that no matter difficult the days ahead are, there lies
a great opportunity to do good. May we love our Lord and each other
more than we fear. And may we have faith not only in God, but in the
goodness of human beings. And may we know beyond a shadow of a doubt,
that our "help comes from the Lord", now and always.
Please join us in praying for the safety of
all those in the path of Hurricane Irene, and especially for those
serving in our police and fire departments who risk so much so that our
families might be safe.
