We live in a difficult time, and those who fear the future have good reason. That said, the hardships that we are experiencing now, and the ones to come, are only temporary. Governor Rick Perry's Prayer For Our Nation |
|
|
|
|
In God We Trust
|
"Lord, You are the source of every good thing, You are our only hope. And we stand before You today in awe of your power, and in gratitude for Your blessings; in humility for our sins.
Father, our heart breaks for America. We see discord at home. We see fear in the marketplace. We see anger in the halls of government. And as a nation we have forgotten Who made us, Who protects us, Who blesses us, and for that we cry out for Your forgiveness.
We pray for our nation’s leaders, Lord -- for parents, for pastors, for the generals, for governors -- that You would inspire them in these difficult times. Father, we pray for our president, that You would impart Your wisdom upon him, that You would guard his family. We pray for our military and the families who love them. Father, especially for those special operators who lost their life yesterday in defending our freedoms.
You call us to repent, Lord, and this day is our response. We give it all to You. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen and amen."

As difficult as life is these days, it's easy to become just plain exhausted as we struggle to meet the seemingly endless challenges that life presents.
" target="_blank">Mercy Me Beautiful
And that is exactly why it is so very important that we take time out to see ourselves, even if it is just for a moment, the way that God sees us. We love God so much, but sometimes it's easy to forget not just how much God loves us, but how much God likes us!

Military Houston Veterans Claim Censorship of Prayers, Including Ban on 'God' and 'Jesus' |

From Fox News:
"Veterans in Houston say the Department of Veterans Affairs is
consistently censoring their prayers by banning them from saying the
words "God" and "Jesus" during funeral services at Houston National
Cemetery."
To Read more, please visit Fox News Commentary: Family, faith and freedom are the foundation upon which this country has been built and they are the reasons for its enduring success. It is these core beliefs that have become the very heart of the American spirit. And it is these beliefs and values, along with the courageous service and sacrifice of so many, that has made America the kind of country that millions all over the world wish to come to, and millions thank God every day to be a part of.
Over
One Million men and women have served in our nation's armed forces.
Many of them have laid down their lives so that our children might be
safe and free. That ANYONE would try to prevent those who have paid
the ultimate price for our nation's freedom and their families from praying to the God who
endowed us with our right to be free, or pray to His Son Jesus, is
appalling, and it is dangerous.
For as President Reagan once said, "A nation that is no longer 'One Nation Under God' will soon be a nation gone under."

From Fox News:
"A federal appeals court has lifted the order banning public prayer at a Texas high school graduation Saturday. The reversal comes on the heels of
increasing criticism of a federal judge's earlier ruling that agreed
with the parents of one graduating student that religious expression
during the ceremony at Medina Valley Independent School District would
cause "irreparable harm" to their son."

IN GOD WE TRUST
"Where is the hope?
I meet millions who tell me they feel demoralized by the decay around us.
Where is the hope?
The hope that each of us has... is in the power of God
working through the hearts of people.
That's where our hope is in this country
and that's where our hope is in this life."-
-Chuck Colson
Everyday as things appear to worsen, we can't help but wonder, what can we do? How can we help? And whether we are working at home or in the marketplace, life has gotten busier and harder these past few years. But our "Help comes from the Lord". It always has... It always will....
We are not struggling as a nation because of a foreign enemy or our economy. We are struggling because we've allowed ourselves to lose faith. Faith in God. Faith in each other. And Faith in ourselves...
And that's what we need to "take back". Everything else that we need, a better economy, security, health care, will follow.
We hear all the time of different groups
fighting to "take our country back". And it's so good that people are
once again caring about our country and getting involved. Our country
needs all the help it can get! But take it back to what and at what
cost?
There's no doubt that our economy is in desperate trouble. And those
who threaten us on our borders and in the Middle East are far more
dangerous than most American families know. But
at the end of the day, if we put our trust in God, and in each other,
we will make it through-together. Just as we always have.

Federal Judge Prohibits Prayer at Texas Graduation Ceremony |

"A federal judge has ordered a Texas school district to prohibit public prayer at a high school graduation ceremony. Chief U.S. District Judge Fred Biery’s order
against the Medina Valley Independent School District also forbids
students from using specific religious words including “prayer” and
“amen.” "He also ordered the school district to remove the terms “invocation” and “benediction” from the graduation program...Should a student violate the order, school district officials could find
themselves in legal trouble. Judge Biery ordered that his ruling be
“enforced by incarceration (i.e.-put students in jail) or other sanctions for contempt of Court if
not obeyed by District official (sic) and their agents.”

My Grandparents All Died In A Nazi Concentration Camp... |
|
|
|
|
In God We Trust
|
My grandparents all died in Nazi concentration camps
during the World War II. Can you understand why people like me have a
hard time believing that God cares what goes on down here? Why didn't
God stop what was going on? — H.F.
I will never forget visiting the Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz
some years ago, where well over a million people (most of them Jews)
were brutally exterminated. It was one of the few times in my life that I
found myself speechless, I was so overwhelmed by the horror of what
took place there. When asked to write something in the visitor's guest
book, I could only think of two words: "Never again." You have
asked a profound question -- and one I can't fully answer. We live in a
fallen, sin-ravaged world, and evil isn't only real, but sometimes it
seems to be gaining the upper hand. One reason is because behind the
tragic events of history Satan is at work -- and everything he does is
destructive and corrupt. But there's another reason why evils like
Auschwitz happen -- and that is the evil within the human heart. Jesus
said, "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual
immorality, theft, false testimony, slander" (Matthew 15:19). Never
forget: God isn't responsible for the evils of our world -- we are. |
