Welcome To Moms For America
Thursday, 08 March 2007

BABY_FACE.jpgAs Moms, we all want the same things for our children.  We want for them a life that is anchored by faith and family and lighted by their hopes and dreams for the future.  And we want to provide them with the education that they will need to one day go in pursuit of those dreams.  We hope they will grow to be compassionate, caring adults who understand as much about the responsibilities of being an American citizen as they do about the rewards.  And we hope that as they grow, we will be able to give them life's greatest gift-Faith.  Faith in God, faith in themselves and faith in each other.

But to do all of those things, we realize that we need to stay involved and stay informed about the events and issues that our children will face.  Moms For America is dedicated to helping Moms and their families get the information they need about the issues and events that will effect their lives and the lives of their children, as well as providing links to information on family and faith issues and current stories in the news.

We hope that you will find this site helpful.  If you would like to see additional content added or have any suggestions, please send us an email at   Thanks!

Tennessee Legislature Passes Bill To Protect Religious Liberty
Tuesday, 08 May 2012

From The Family Action Council Of Tennessee:iStock_000007212244XSmall.jpg

"The Tennessee legislature just passed a bill to protect the religious liberty of student organizations at Tennessee’s publicly funded colleges. But the real controversy was over a provision applying the law to Vanderbilt University.  Vanderbilt created a policy requiring student organizations to accept any student who wants to be a member and to allow any student to run for a student office, meaning an atheist  could wind up being an officer of a Christian organization.  But fraternities and sororities didn’t want this kind of “all-comers” policy applied to them, so Vanderbilt exempted them. This unequal treatment didn’t escape the notice of the legislators.

Essentially the bill lets Vanderbilt choose between allowing Christian organizations to require that their members and officers be Christians or requiring Greek organizations to accept any interested student too. Now the question is, “Which option will Vanderbilt choose?”
