Can the US assassinate an American citizen living in another country? |
|
Friday, 30 September 2011 |
From CSMonitor:
"The targeted killing of Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, without due process, would violate the gold standard of international law set by the Nuremberg trials – and defy the US Constitution...When government asserts an unreviewable power to kill its own citizens,
it mocks the rule of law, and claims a power more familiar to tyrants
than democracies."
To read this story, please visit CSMonitor
Note: Media outlets who have published reports
celebrating the assassination of a U.S. citizen, Anwar al -Awlaki, have
done the American People a great disservice. While Anwar may have
indeed have been our enemy, allowing our government to assassinate U S
citizens without any trial sets a dangerous precedent that we may ALL
soon come to regret.
For if we allow Obama to order the execution of any American citizen
without a trial, who will be next? A Bible believing Christian, a
Congressman who spoke out against the administration, a marine who warns
the American people of a danger we face? Our Constitutions guarantees
American citizens the right to a trial. If we allow Obama to take that
right away, the life he decides to take next could be our own... |

|
Friday, 30 September 2011 |
From Fox News:

the the most intense debate over the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, a
project so controversial, State Sen. Ken Haar stood Tuesday before State Department officials and said, “You don’t give a damn about Nebraska. Haar was cheered loudly."
"TransCanada wants to build the 1,600-mile
oil pipeline from the oil-rich Canadian province of Alberta to the Texas
Gulf Coast. The multibillion-dollar construction project will bring
much more Canadian oil into the U.S., but more important to labor
unions, it’ll bring jobs."

Concern grows over militant activity in Libya |
|
Friday, 30 September 2011 |
From Fox News:
"Bruce Riedel, a former senior CIA analyst who has advised President
Barack Obama on policy in the region, said there was particular worry
that Islamic militants could use Libya as a base to spread their
influence into neighboring countries such as Algeria or areas such as
the Sinai peninsula, where Israel, Egypt and the Gaza Strip share
borders. "There is a great deal of concern that the jihadi cadre now are going
to be exporting their ideas and weapons toward the east and west,"
Riedel said."
To read this story, please visit Fox News
Note: Ironically, Moms have said from the beginning that fighting in Libya, in violation of the War Powers Act, would result in Libya being taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood and/or Radical Islam. If Moms knew that from the beginning, do we really believe that Washington, with all its' sources of information, is just figuring that out now?

Economy Is Getting Worse; Moms Recommend Bringing Manufacturing Home! |
|
Wednesday, 28 September 2011 |
From Gallup:
"Gallup's Daily tracking shows a sharp increase in the percentage of
Americans saying the economy is "getting worse" over the past several
months. In particular, 80% of upper-income Americans said the economy
was "getting worse" in August -- even higher than the 77% of other
Americans."
To read this story, please visit Gallup.com
Moms support law to require 50% of our basic necessities be made in the United States. As a matter of national security, we need to ensure that we make at LEAST 50% of our own basic necessities. In addition, bringing part of our manufacturing back home will help to stabilize our economy. Currently, our economy reacts to headlines. By increasing our manufacturing base, we will be able to slow that reaction down and create an economic stability that has for so long been missing! |

Obama's Support Among Hispanics falls |
|
Wednesday, 28 September 2011 |
From MySanAntonio.com:
"While Obama has made little progress on comprehensive immigration
legislation, he has pushed Congress to pass the Dream Act, which would
provide a route to legal status for college students and service members
brought to the country as children. The bill passed the House last year
when it was controlled by Democrats but was blocked by
Senate Republicans."
"A strong majority of Hispanics supported Obama's election in 2008. But
his support among Hispanics has declined, as it has in the broader
population. A recent Gallup survey found 48 percent of Hispanic voters approving of Obama's job performance, compared with 60 percent in January."

Russia Has A Moral Duty To Side With Palestine? |
|
Wednesday, 28 September 2011 |
From Russia Today:
"Maksim Shevchenko writes that depriving the Palestinians of the right to
their own land was one of the greatest acts of injustice of the 20th
century and that Russia has a moral obligation to assist in correcting
this injustice. Besides, Assisting Palestinian independence would restore Russia’s
spiritual presence in the Holy Land, Shevchenko writes. This task alone
would justify insisting on a vote in the United Nations in order to
stand up for freedom and justice."

Perdue jokes about suspending Congressional elections for two year |
|
Tuesday, 27 September 2011 |
But does anyone really believe Purdue was joking? From The News Observer:
"Speaking
to a Cary Rotary Club today, N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue suggested suspending
Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can focus on
economic recovery and not the next election. "I think we ought to
suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell
them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to
just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can
agree with me on that," Perdue said. "You want people who don't worry
about the next election." To read more, please visit News Observer |

In Syria, defectors form dissident army in sign uprising may be entering new phase |
|
Monday, 26 September 2011 |
From The Washington Post:
"A group of defectors calling themselves the Free Syrian Army is attempting the first effort to organize an armed challenge to President Bashar al-Assad’s rule,
signaling what some hope and others fear may be a new phase in what has
been an overwhelmingly peaceful Syrian protest movement."
To read this story, please visit The Washington Post
Note: Since Obama demanded that Assad surrender, that an army is forming should come as no surprise. What does continue to surprise is that no one has yet insisted that Obama answer the question:
"Why does our President continue to force out sitting rulers in Middle Eastern countries in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood who wish to destroy both Israel and America?"
"And why does our President support the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, when many Syrian Christians say that the Muslim Brotherhood will attack both them and their churches? |
